Unable  to reach George Norcross or Julie Roginsky, I am issuing the below as America's trial courts are intended to be places that search for the truth. Our nation's founders did not mean for courtrooms to be a launching pad for the political careers of prosecutors who do not respect the Bill of Rights.

-Chris Bastardi, a victim of not just domestic abuse, but of prosecutorial abuse as well
(now in 2 states!)

The below was offered to The Globe's David Wildstein on January 21, 2026 as an exclusive. Mr. Wildstein seemed disinterested.

CHRIS BASTARDI ANNOUNCES COMING SUIT AGAINST FORMER NEW JERSEY ATTORNEY GENERAL MATTHEW PLATKIN

CRISIS CONSULTANT WHO HAS REPRESENTED CLIENTS ACROSS THE AISLE & IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR SAW REPUTATIONAL DAMAGE DUE TO POLITICAL INVESTIGATION BY PLATKIN, TORTUOUS INTERFERENCE OF HIS COMPANY and
VIOLATION OF CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO COUNSEL

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - JANUARY 31, 2026 - Public affairs and crisis management consultant Christopher Bastardi announced this evening at his Brooklyn home that he intends to file a federal lawsuit against ex-New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin.

Admittedly unorthodox in his announcement of the litigation, Mr. Bastardi posted on X that he was attempting to reach Democratic operative George Norcross as he believes that both of them suffered due to the unethical, malicious, and arguably illegal acts of the Office of the New Jersey Attorney General. This evening, Mr. Bastardi noticed that someone had hacked into his X account and apparently deleted the communication, which was made intentionally to New Jersey Globe founder David Wildstein.

“My company, Baro Strategies, suffered immense irreparable harm at the hands of Matt Platkin and the unethical manner in which he chose to conduct himself while New Jersey Attorney General,” said Mr. Bastardi. “First, I need to endure the wrath of some in the New Jersey media establishment due to my representation of scapegoat Bridget Kelly; then, my friends and business are targeted over dubious-at-best allegations by Mr. Platkin, breaking the law when publicly targeting someone close to me and pitting colleagues and friends against one another; and now, as I attempt to reach both a potential co-plaintiff and fellow victim in George Norcross, and an attorney to take my case, I realize a deleted X post and no calls from attorneys are returned. There are too many coincidences. I cannot even reach Julie Roginsky.”

Mr. Platkin, who has developed an obvious penchant for purporting to be an “anti-corruption” prosecutor is exactly the opposite. Mr. Bastardi said, “He is just like Eliot Spitzer,” who became infamous not just for his sartorial expressions during sex in violation of the Interstate Commerce Clause, but for his public flogging of innocent people like NYSE Chairman Dick Grasso and Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno - both who saw their reputations tarnished for no reason.

Mr. Bastardi’s career was negatively impacted when information about what was supposed to be a private and independent investigation by the Attorney General’s Office about political action committee “Jersey Freedom” appeared in the news. First, in a Globe article that while on its face may seem to have been legitimate, ultimately was what Mr. Bastardi believes to be a felony leak that impacted an individual that had a part-time contract job for a short period of time.

Then, Mr. Bastardi had two articles published about him. Calls were made to prior employers. Contracts were unnecessarily lost.

Why?

“Because Matt Platkin wants to be in Congress, I guess” said Mr. Bastardi, who saw his career similarly impacted in 2008 when Democratic Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice, Mr. Bastardi alleges,  helped cover-up a Black voter suppression effort. Mr. Bastardi was the whistleblower in that case, which deeply hurt him but propelled Ms. Rice to what he calls “a free ride to Congress” on his website SomethingProfound.org.

Mr. Bastardi continued, “What I know is this: Should Matt Platkin have one success in an otherwise underwhelming career of leveraging his office for power and fame by hurting innocent people, it is this: he has become Exhibit A for why New Jersey needs an elected, not appointed, Attorney General.”

Mr. Bastardi has not only attempted to reach Mr. Norcross seeking his desire to be a co-plaintiff, but has also attempted to contact both his Baro partner, Julie Roginsky and another impacted. He believes criminal activity may be involved in disrupting communication given neither return his calls or emails, even when via counsel.

Mr. Bastardi went to his local precinct to report the matter and to request an investigation into interference into his telecommunications and internet services. He was told by an officer at the 62nd Precinct in Brooklyn that “without someone to file a report against, there was nothing they could do."

“As a victim of domestic abuse, I am used to law enforcement telling me that there is nothing they can do; it was a new experience to also apply that excuse to investigating. I will write a strongly worded letter to Tish James,” remarked Mr. Bastardi.
